Can I get into GMU?????

Hi,

So I am a rising senior at a high school in NOVA. College decisions are nearing and I really want to get into GMU for either Computer Science or IT. My freshman and sophomore year went phenomonal with almost all A+'s. Junior year came and I sort of just lost it. I got two D’s and all my other grades were B’s. I don’t have very many ec’s except being co-pres of computer science club and president of Investment club. I do a lot of things outside of school such as make software and things.

But back to admissions, i don’t know if i can get in with my screw-up in junior year. I took the new SAT once and got a 1210 but I am going to take it again to superscore. My GPA is still a 3.9 despite the downfall junior year.

Any thoughts?? Thanks!

According to prep scholars(don’t know how reliable that is) the average GPA is 3.66 which I believe is weighted out of 4, the website says their average new SAT is 1220

Yes your junior year didn’t go as planned but I think you still have a very good chance of getting in just basing that off of stats alone

I think you have a great chance at getting in. I have friends with lower scores that got in. Good luck!
