Can I get into Harvard with a 92% average?

Hey, I’m from Canada and I go to this special program enriched in Math, Science and English so everything’s like harder, and I have like a 92% average so far (I’m still in grade 10). I was wondering… do I have a chance of Ivy League with a 92? I know it’s low and I have no idea how the US works and whether or not they see ur average as a percent or they make it a gpa. My dad says that I need to have at least a 95% average to even be considered. Is he right?

What province are you from? Grade inflation varies a lot and a 92 at one school could mean something very different from a 92 at another. Do you know how well you are doing compared to your peers?

Also, there’s no such thing as an average you NEED to have to be considered. Still, since you’re in Grade 10, you still have some time to raise your marks (universities look favourably upon upward trends).

Yes, you can get in with a 92. You can also get rejected with a 92. Harvard rejects many 4.0 GPA’s with 2400 SAT scores, since while this is a part of what they are looking for, it is not the only things they are looking for.
