Can someone give me some insight please...?

probably not. standardized testing too low.

32 ACT is above the 25%, and Affirmitive Action should elp you if your black (Im assuming you are)

If you are white/asian, you have a very slim chance.

If you are an under repersented minority you have a moderate chance of getting in. Your test scores are on the low side but your class rank is outstanding.

What kind of high school do you attend? This is a hard one. You've clearly done well and have strong debate credentials, but H gets so many highly qualified black applicants that the SATs will hurt. If you come from an urban high school in a low income area, it will really help. Harvard has no problem getting high scorers at privates and suburban high schools, but they do seem to have a committment to low income minorities this year.

You claim:

1st Place – Domestic Extemp – National Forensic League 2006

Interestingly enough:
-Nationals does not happen until June. There is no 2006 champion yet.
-The 2003, 2004 and 2005 Domestic Extemp champions already graduated.

These facts make me incredibly confident that you did not win nationals. I certainly hope you will mail a corrected resume to the colleges you applied to.

Wouldn't Domestic Extemp mean it's a regional qualifier for Nationals?

Anyway, I believe your SAT scores are too low, even for a Black student.

Domestic extemp is one of the two categories of extemporaneous speaking offered by the NFL. The other is international extemp.

No.

10characmax

No way
no es buena

I was in Speech and Debate, aka "NFL," and I cannot find anything that would suggest he won nationals in 2006, or any year. Perhaps he is referring to a regular tournament, or a district qualifier.

1260 on old SAT1? That's very low for Harvard...very... you need to work on your math and read more books (obviously you're very smart kid at debating/history/government)

Of course...

APRIL FOOLS!

sorry that was cruel.

is this person a troll? How can you possibly expect to get into harvard with a 580 verbal? Try a state college first.

sorry. there is no chance for you to get into harvard. i know a person who has 2400 on SATs, perfect GPA, graduated 1st, intel semi-finalists, davidson fellow, and he didnt get into harvard. You have a 1280. Sorry

Thanks for your "support" everyone. I did get rejected from harvard, so I will attend Georgetown in the fall. I guess I should not have tried a state college..... nay-sayers!

Reading this thread made me cringe. I am happy for you man. I officially hate CCers.
