Can I get into Ivies/stanford/Nyu on a scholarship?

I'm from Pakistan, and we dont have a GPA system, we just have percentages obtained in each individual exam sitting : no average percentage. However, out C translates to an A on the US marking equivalancy. I'd probably have an average percentage GPA of 75% if it was calculated which is a B in our system, but when translated becomes an A. its really strange, but anyways, no class rank, no GPA. Here's the rest though:

O' levels result : 9 A's
SAT 1 .- Taken thrice (i) CR 720 M 630 VW770 =2120
(ii)CR 710 M790 VW800 = 2300
(iii) Pending
SAT 2 - Math 2, Physics, Chemistry = 2400

But whats really good about my Application is the Extra Curriculars. This is the only reason I'm hoping that by some miracle i might get into the likes of HYPS inspite of the whole GPA issue.

My essays are really good, and my reccommendations are also stellar. I got an additional recommendation done from someone very high profile who knows me well as I have wworked with that individual. Sending a video montage of my clips from my various speeches at different events as an arts supplement.

So the problem, is this whole GPA business. I will be applying for full need based aid as we come in the >60K bracket. Realistically Speaking, what are my chances of getting in to these colleges?

Please rate on a scale of 0-100 =P

The ivies do not give scholarships, they only give need based finanical aid.

HYP and Dartmouth are need blind to international students

Brown, Columbia, Penn and Stanford are not need blind so your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process. However, if accepted, they will meet 100% of your demonstrated need.

NYU is not need blind to international students and does not meet full need for the international students it accepts

As noted, the Ivies (and Stanford) do not give merit aid (based on your stats). They give need based aid only (based on your parents income and assets in American dollars).

These schools accept about 10% of students who apply, meaning that about 90% do not get accepted. In that mix are mostly very well qualified applicants. My advice to you…don’t put all of your eggs in the HYPS basket. Cast a wider net.

NYU gives lousy aid.

The other schools are very hard to get into…especially for an int’l student. The acceptance rate is lower for int’ls.

Since you need a LOT of aid, finding other schools to apply to will be more difficult because lower ranked schools either don’t give FA to int’ls or won’t meet need. There are some schools that give merit scholarships to int’ls, but I don’t think any give “full rides”…so your family would still have to contribute some money.

How much will your parents pay each year? If they can’t contribute very much, then your choices might be limited to the few elites that are hard to get into, but give big aid.
