I want to be a pediatrician so I am really looking for a school with a GOOD medical program.
I really want to get into ANY IVY LEAGUES, good private schools or the top 3 UC SCHOOLS.

Do I have a chance?

You are right that you are worried, because you have a very small chance of getting into any college out there.

Maybe I missed it, but are you OOS for the UC’s? I ask because 3.72 seems low for an instate UC GPA given your grades.

Assuming you are OOS, I think you have a good shot at the UC’s (I know people say it’s harder to get in if you’re OOS, but the schools themselves say it isn’t so) and as good a shot as anyone at all the rest, as long as you shine in your essays and hit your mark on the test scores. Keep up the hard work!

Thank you schmoomcgoo…I am in state.
and Beretta9mm…what do you mean by any colleges out there?
I know I dont have the best grades but I’m sure I am very eligible.

Out of State

I think Beretta is being facetious.

Remember that the Ivy League schools do not have undergraduate medical programs. You choose a concentration such as biology or chemistry, and apply to graduate medical school during your college senior year. What is most important is to maintain a very high GPA in your sciences, which can be difficult at highly competitive Ivies, some of which (Princeton) have a policy of grade deflation, capping the number of A’s in a class at around 25%.

Have you looked at any schools that do have a joint B.A./M.D. program? Wash U at St.Louis has a good one, as well as many state schools.

.

OP - Beretta is giving it to you. You are doing great. I know its stressful and sorry but don’t have much feedback…just hang in there.

fauve…thank you so muchh for the infos!
and i was planning to major in biology.
