I am about to apply for the fall of 2019 as an undergraduate. For the standardized tests, I have got a B in chemistry, A’s in Further mathematics and physics, A* in mathematics and D in English language. I have an unweighted gpa of 3.10 my rank was around mid thirties. I have taken part in many ECs. Do I have a chance to get into KAIST? And do you recommend me to give SAT II?
Hey Mate.
To be honest,Your academic standings are a bit below the rank that the admissions committee normally receive.you have a good grade in Math. But your overall GPA just doesn’t seem competitive. Now Don’t take me wrong here. Its just statistical statement.
But it is really your overall standing that makes you selective.
SAT-II is strongly encouraged but don’t entirely focus on academic boast.Extra-Curricular Activities,Competitions,Research works and performances outside the box makes you a sureshot.
You should have Good LoRs and personal statements as well.
Best wishes and hope you get accepted!
By the way,I am applying to KAIST as well for spring 2019.
Thanks, I know that my rankings are not good but it’s not the only factor deciding my application. Looks like there’s alot to do in the upcoming months SAT and SAT II.
Man I’m sure you have great stats. I don’t even need to wish you good luck… You’re already accepted “Congratulations”.
