I'm a sophomore in high school. Well currently I have a 2.1 gpa on the 4pt scale. I know I can do much better because in the first marking periods I actually try to do my work and I can pull off easy As until i start to get lazy again. My freshmen gpa was 2.2 and my sophomore gpa is going to be about 2.0. I want buckle down and start working hard by finishing with a 3.9 gpa in Junior and Senior year (yes this sounds absurd but I know I can do this), which will help me meet the required 3.0 gpa for 19 core classes and I think i'll be fine on the testing scores. Also I want to be a member of their track team and I think I have a good shot at becoming a high jumper there since their best high jumper is only 4 inches better than me and I'm a sophomore.

Other schools in the mix :Mississippi state university, Oregon State University, Michigan State University and Kent State

**Another question, the LSU requirements state I must have 4 math units on my core gpa. What if I've taken 5 math classes in high school. Do I take the better grade or just add up 5 math units instead of 4?
