Can I get into Macaulay

I got a 1280/1600 on the SAT (at the open house Macaulay said they were looking for mid 1200s) and have a 3.8 GPA (94%). I have some okay extracurricular activities (captain of softball team, created a club in karate and also won two national championships, member of national honor society, and also girl scouts) I have too many volunteer hours to count. I also have had two jobs during high school (dry cleaners and summer camp counselor.) My teacher showed my essays to a college professor and he said that they were great. I'm praying that I get into the CUNY Macaulay Program. What do you think my chances are?

I am applying to the college of staten island campus.

thanks in advance!

For that campus, your chances seem great.

I think you are pretty good for CSI, maybe somewhat of a reach. The selection process for Macaulay is pretty weird and tough, but if you show them that you really want to be in this program and that you are a well-rounded student fit to excel, they will accept you.

If you want some inspiration, I got into Macaulay at Baruch with a 1260 and 91% which is pretty low considering Baruch is one of the toughest of the colleges to get into with Macaulay. Good luck!
