Can I get into Middlebury College?

I visited Middlebury over the summer and fell head over heels for the campus. I didn't know where I wanted to go, but now I do! What is really important to me is that Middlebury is small liberal arts school that specializes in languages.

My Scores:

My SAT is a 1950, which I realize is quite low for Middlebury's standards, but I can't take anymore seeing that I am a senior.
I have a 3.86 GPA out of a 4.00
My class rank is top 11% (58 out of 555)
I expect both of these to significantly increase at the end of this semester considering my course load of five AP classes. The ranking and GPA is so low because of my semester overseas -- I did not receive any credit for my second semester of my junior year.

My Extracurriculars:

Athletics: Cheerleading(9th), Varsity Lacrosse(9th and 12th), Basketball(10th), Varsity Soccer(10th), and Volleyball(10th and 11th).

-Representative in Student Council (10th)
-Spirit Committee, Homecoming Committee, Dance Committee (10th)
-Applicant for NHS (10th and 11th) I would have been inducted but we've moved both years.
-Honor Council (11th)
-National Art Honor Society (12th)
-National Social Studies Honor Society -- president and co-founder (12th)
-Volunteer for a human society (9th)
-Volunteer for the congressional campaign of Mike McIntyre of NC (9th)
-Young Life Youth Group (10th)
-Exchange student to Vienna, Austria (11th)

I'm applying EDII because my SAT was after the deadline for EDI.

It was hard to stay in any ECs or become captain in any sport because of the multiple high schools I've been to. My freshman year was in North Carolina. Sophomore year was in Wichita, KS. My junior year was in Texas/Austria. My senior year is in Texas. I'm hoping that coming from Texas will work as an advantage seeing that many Midd applicants come from the Northeast. I would also be a first year. None of my family members have gone to Midd. I'm white, but my family is not wealthy and I'll need financial aid.

So, what are my chances? I really want to study languages and foreign affairs, so Middlebury is the perfect school for me!

Thank you!

For ED II I would say maybe because you moved a lot, you aren’t very wealthy, and your GPA isn’t bad. Take some subject tests.

Midd ED: reach

Your SAT is kinda low for Midd, but you still have a chance with you intangibles. Write good essays and make yourself shine in other aspects. Good luck in the process!

Thank you!

Since you applied ED II, I can definitely see you getting in. If you don’t, it’s because the SATs.
