Hi, I’m international student and I will be written 12th papers in Feb 2017. Prelim exams just over and got 96%. My aim is around 90% in 12th. I secured 93% in 9th and 11th, 80% in 10th. I’m winner of Regional Chess Competition and also secured 21th rank at WR0 2016 international, former assistance head volunteer at Cancer Hopsital. Also I did summer program at Stanford University. And I’m going to take gap for research program at Oxford Uni, UK for admission into top colleges. So can I get into MIT and other top Ivy league college’s after taking a gap? If yes then please mention admission chance rate.
Sorry I have not mentioned my SAT and TOEFL scores. New SAT score was 1540 and TOEFL score was 110. (IBT)
Subject test scores was same that I mentioned my New SAT score. (800 in Maths and 740 in Physics)
MIT is a reach for most everyone. Your profile looks good. Anyone giving you a percentage chance of admission is making the figure up.
Many top US unis offer generous fin aid to internationals – making it all the more difficult. Apply – but expect rejection.
What do you mean “but expect more rejection”?
I think you stand a better than average chance of being accepted. My reasoning behind that is you’re stats are very strong /and/ you’re an international applicant. My best advice to you would be to focus on you application essays. If your first language is not english, show them that you’re as strong if not stronger than the other applicants in their native tongue. Also, the Oxford University research opportunity reflects very highly.
