Can I get into MITES or SSP?

I was very aware of SAT forums of college confidential for a year and was very active member. I just found out about this summer program forum and feel..debilitated. I did not do anything for past 2summers but tutor bunch of kids. Now I want to apply but I am soo overwhelmed by all these different summer programs.

But I've noticed MITES and SSP would be my top choices. Can you guys still tell me what other programs that I can be qualified for and which ones I can try?
I am..

Which summer program would fit me best? and which one do I have chance for and which would be a reach? Thank you

My stats were not as impressive as yours. I applied to YESS, SSP and MITES. I got into the YESS program and got waitlisted for SSP. I think your chances for SSP are good, idk about MITES though. And I’d reccomend YESS as well if you are a minority student, and even if you are not it may be worth a try.

thnx for the feedback but whats YESS? and what stats of mine are you saying is “good”?

YESS is the Young Engineering and Science Scholars summer program at Caltech.
As far as stats go, I’d classify your SAT scores, rank and Gpa as really good. I think your EC’s seem a bit limited though since they are in only one area, but then again that could work for you by showing just how interested you are in those areas.

Can I try out for more than one program then choose? or do I only tryout for one?

You can apply to several, I applied to three, other people applied to even more. It’s really up to you, and how many applications you have time for

so it is not binding, right?

none of the ones I applied to were binding, but I think some are so you just need to read what each program says
