Can I get into MSU with this?

Hey guys I was wondering if I could get into MSU with:

  • a 3.4 GPA
  • a 1520 on the SAT
  • a 29 on the ACT
  • being an IB Diploma Student
  • 5 years of karate, 7 years of singing, 4 years of HOSA, 2 years of Link Crew, tutoring my siblings, Freelance writing for online publications, volunteering at the library
    Thank You!

Montana State - yes, and your scores are high enough for in-state tuition rates
Michigan State - probably yes. They like high test scores, but your GPA is in their bottom 30%.

Thank You! And yeah, I probably should have made it clear that I was shooting for Michigan State oops.

Posting in the Michigan State University thread was indication enough.

You should be admitted, although your numbers are interesting (1520 SAT, 29 ACT & 3.4 high school GPA).

The better question might be whether you can get admitted into the MSU Honor’s College.

Thank you! And although the Honor’s college seems interesting, at this point I’m really just hoping to make it in the school itself.

Considering last year MSU admitted almost 80% of applicants, it would be very surprising if you did not get in.

This year is different though they received more than double last year applications after joining the common app… 75000 applications. Wait and see how their acceptance rate is this year. Might be at 50% . Saying that your SAT score is high and gpa right fit!
