Thanks guys! I will look into College of William and Mary, sounds like a good school!

I’m gonna go ahead and bump this…

Please help guys!

Don’t not retake the SAT… If you turn out to be a National Merit Semi Finalist, you’ll have to retake it anyway. And if you list National Merit Semi Finalist on your application, then non score choice schools will know you took the SAT at least once and will want your score. That being said–still focus on your ACT!

Your extra curricualars are meh imo. Fix it–find something you’re passionate about.

Get into the top 10%. Your college counselor will have to mark it for you on your secondary school report. Have her do decile ranking.

DreamChaser, thanks for the input! I have tried to find things that I am passionate about (soccer, hospital volunteering, and civic association), but I think I may have started too late with those (CRAP) and I’m struggling to become involved with them in my remaining time.

Also, I am pretty sure by the end of the year that I will be in the top 10%, as I have a much more rigorous schedule now than most of the people ranked above me.

Anybody else?

heeeelllllllppppppppp please!

Penn state and Drexel are ur safeties and the rest, i think, u got a pretty good shot at ! good luck bro .

W&M: Low match/Match

Hi kitts95, your stats look pretty good. As many others have said, given your ACT score, I don’t think you should retake your SATs. As for your extracurriculars, while diverse, they seem quite generic. Maybe you would want to find something related to what you want to study in college? (Physical sciences, as you say). While colleges appreciate all-roundedness, they would also like to see you displaying some passion in the subject you’d like to study.

Harvard - Reach
Princeton - Reach
UPenn - Reach
MIT - Reach
Boston College - Match
Johns Hopkins - Match
Drexel - Safety
Penn State - Safety

You are a very qualified student and to top it all off, from what I gathered, you have URM status on your side as well. I honestly think you have a VERY great chance of getting into these schools.

Good luck!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback.
How would things look if I started a Young Doctors Club at my school? I am going to be President and it will start soon.

You’ll have to give up the low SAT score which they will see and maybe give them that one reason to say no. I think you should retake and try for a 2250. BTW whoever told you to take the SAT so early in your Junior year didn’t do you any favors. GL

Shameless bump

New SAT scores?

2220!
690 CR
740 M
790 W (11 essay)

Also, I’ve founded and become president of the Young Doctors club at my school!

New(er) chances?

Shameless bump because I can
