can i get into northwestern early decision binding with a mediocre gpa?

<hr>

<p>right now i'm a junior and i've calculated that i'm most probably going to graduate with a 4.2 weighted gpa on a 4.0 scale
i'm not sure what that is unweighted but it puts me in the top 3% of my class of 1200 students. it's still mediocre compared to the gpas of those admitted into northwestern, but i have an overall strong background excluding gpa...
also my act is 32, i've taken numerous aps and a rigorous courseload, and i have hold several high positions in my schools clubs, as well as consistent volunteering positions and (idk if this helps) but i also have a sibling at northwestern. all that's just on a very broad, surface level.
on a broad scale, excluding all the smaller details about admissions, do you think i have a good chance of getting into nu? if i applied early decision binding?</p>

<p>Top 3% is by no means mediocre. Believe me. Sounds like you have a really good shot at ED, you will be competitive.</p>

<p>bumpppppppppp
oh and its top 5% :(</p>

<p>chill and apply ...</p>

<p>Honestly, I think you have a better than average shot. Definitely apply.</p>

<p>is ed more competitive than regular admissions</p>

<p>Applying ED gives the applicant an advantage according to Northwestern University's admissions percentages of ED vs. RD students. Northwestern will either admit or deny ED applicants, as the school does not defer ED applicants to the regular admissions pool. This permits the applicant to get on with his/her life whether successful or not during the early decision round.
Your GPA, class rank and ACT are outstanding, in my opinion.</p>

<p>You’ll be fine, and the fact that you have a sibling should help you. I’d be honestly surprised if you didn’t receive admission; just make sure that all parts of your application are as best as they can be.</p>
