My school sets the standards for the APUSH class at my school where you have to get a certain amount of points in order to get in the class. I came up one point short despite a GPA of 3.98 (unweighted) and as a result I am currently taking regular US History (my school has no honors class, just APUSH). Anyone know how I can beg my guidance counselor to switch me in, even though the year has already started and I've tried before unsuccessfully? I plan to take the APUSH exam either way, but I'm worried not having an AP this year will hurt my chances of getting into NYU or Columbia (I couldn't get any APs into my schedule because of conflicts), even though I still plan to take about two or three next year (senior year). If I self study APs this year or take a few senior year, will NYU or Columbia consider me?
