Hello! I’m an American student (sophomore in high school), and my dream is to attend an amazing school in England. I want to study Anthropology, to then later attend Law school. I just want to know if I can hopefully attend one of these spectacular schools in the future. Here is what i’ve done so far:
I’ve taken AP Human Geography and AP World History and got a 4 and a 5.
Junior year I expect to take:
AP Language
AP Psychology
AP Seminar
AP US History
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
(my school didn’t allow sophomores to take more than one during the year)
My Extracurriculars:
Debate Club President
Part of National Honors Society
I Won First Place in Debate State Finals
Over 300 Volunteer hours
An Internship with an HR (to be done this summer)
I also speak fluent Serbian, (and english obviously haha) and I’ve taken four years of Spanish
I’m in the AP Capstone Program (which is like ACE or IB, but my school created this new program since they didn’t offer the other two)
I will also be taking business college courses at the community college located near my school.
Travel Soccer/ School soccer captain
I have not taken the SAT or ACT yet; I will be next year.
Keep in mind that British Universities don’t put as much emphasis on extracurriculars as American Universities do. Universities in England are rather meritocratic in that grades and test scores come first. That being said, I think it’s hard to give an accurate prediction as you’re a sophomore without any test scores yet. If you’re dead set on studying in England, make sure your test scores are really high, like a 35 on the ACT or 2300+ on the SAT would be optimum. Your course schedule is also pretty rigorous and will help you. I think you’re in great shape for college admissions. I don’t know about England but I think you could get into a prestigious American University for sure. Best of luck to you.

I can’t so much for Oxbridge right now, as you still need one more 5 as well as a high test score to be considered. After that they will offer you an interview and that interview will determine whether you get in or not for the most part.
For the Ivies, again obviously test scores will play an important role. Have you taken the PSAT/PLAN? Other than that you have pretty generic ECs, so in the context of thousands other applicants with similar ECs you might want to craft a very unique essay, or completely dedicate yourself to one of your ECs to stand out. With that, I think you should be in good standing for the Ivies, but even then it is very very difficult to say when you aren’t hooked (assuming you’re not)
You need some SERIOUS ECs to get into Oxford. I mean OUTSTANDING. I’m not tryna be mean, but generally speaking, your ECs are kinda generic. They MAY get you into some Ivies. If you do something that really makes you stand out, your chances would be that much better.
