Retaking it would be a good idea.

so if i get at least 1200/1600 on the SAT next time, then i will have a decent chance of getting accepted right? do they look at individual scores, because i am pretty sure i will get above 700 on the math part, but CR is my weakness, so hoping to get at least 500 on it. thank you

With a 3.91 and 1200 SAT, I think you have a decent shot at main campus. It seems to me that they do look at individual scores. If you are applying for an engineering/science major, a high score on the math part will help because I think it helped me.

well, i am going to major in actuarial science, which also requires a lot of math. and what did you get on your math SAT score?

My break down was 380 and 720.

G Dad, I find it hard to believe that Penn State UP was turning down people with
3.6 GPAs and 1350s. UMich will accept you if you have that and decent extra curriculars.

Lil_killer, that's 1100...

do they accept ACT? because i looked up collegeboard.com, and didnt see the ACT score for it

On the link from GDad, is that a weighted or unweighted GPA?

I believe that chart is based on the GPAs schools submit for their applicants and I guess that includes weighted GPAs since the chart goes over 4.0.

When S applied (almost three years ago), we were told that admissions looks at the GPA submitted by the high schools and that the high schools know the 'worth' of their classes. We were also told that admissions does not calculate a weighted GPA for schools that do not submit one. If an unweighted GPA is submitted, that is what they consider. If a weighted GPA is submitted, that is what they consider. There definitely is a disadvantage if your school does not weight honors or AP courses.

If you look back at post #14, that is what I said.

What are the requirements to get into Penn State? What are good extra curricular activities to look good on a resume?

@butoboy63

These are the requirements to get into Penn State: [High School Course Requirements for 4-Year Degrees - Penn State Undergraduate Admissions](Penn State Majors - Undergraduate Admissions)

A sport and clubs might look good. They don’t pay too much attention to them.
