Can I get into Princeton/MIT/Stanford with a B in physics?

I took physics the summer before my junior year at a community college and received a B (mainly because I had to miss three weeks because my actual school was still in session). Junior year I took AP Physics online and also got a B because their standards were so strict. Do I still have a shot at these schools? My gpa unweighted is a 3.8 and weighted is a 4.16.

Your GPA falls within what I believe is the acceptable range at Princeton, but the school remains highly selective. Test scores and class ranking (if applicable) will be important, as will your essays. If you don’t gain admission, it is unlikely to be due to a couple B’s on your transcript…many students with 4.0’s (UW) are denied admission as well so there is more to your application than grades, although they are certainly important. Be kind to yourself, work hard and have fun! Princeton is a great school but there are many others out there that will also help you achieve your dreams so try not to stress about getting into an Ivy or other extremely selective school.
