Thank you for reading my post. This is my first time on my website so I hope I am posting this correctly!

My main question is, do you think I have a chance at getting into Princeton?

My current gpa is 3.6. I am very involved in community service and I am in a lot of clubs in school. I have been involved in school drama every single year of high school and I plan on being in senior year productions. I plan on getting letters of recommendation from two Princeton alumni, my German teacher and my school counselor. I also have been doing crew and I plan on continuing it in college (hopefully for Princeton)! I will be going to their crew camp this summer.

Thank you in advance for all of your feedback. It means a lot to me :)

Any test scores yet?
Is your GPA unweighted? If so what about weighted?
What is your class rank or approximate decile?
Any awards in or out of the classroom?

Yes, I recieved a few acting awards and citizenship awards. I also gotten awards for my grades. I also have a few swim team trophies if that counts! :)

AP British Literature
Dual Credit World Civ.
Dual Credit WW2
Advanced Alg. 2/Trig
German 2 (finished up Spanish last yr)
Marketing/Communications

I forgot to mention this earlier, I have a job at a local coffee shop and I am a camp counselor at my church. I also have an internship at two resorts near my home for wedding planning.

I want to major in business/political event planning at Princeton.

I’m sorry! What I meant to say is I am mostly looking for colleges in the region of New England. Princeton would be one of the places I’m considering outside of that region. I love that part of the country and my parents want me to stay in that general area.

I understood what you meant by New England. To be more general, you can just say the Northeast and that covers Philly and North. The average accepted Princeton GPA is a mid 3.8. Now, if you’re taking difficult classes and are involved in lots of extracurriculars, your weighted 3.7 puts you in the ballpark. But as averages go, a 3.8ish average means half the kids have GPA’s below that, so a 3.7 sounds doable. Might make life a little bit harder at the worst.

Don’t listen to aquotidianlife. That’s just a ****** comment. A weighted 3.7 isn’t the best GPA around but every school in the country will look at a kid with a 3.7.

To make this easier, I’d suggest you go into one of the other sections of this website, and find the decision threads, copy the format, and put in your stats. It’ll make life easier for everybody reading it.

A lot of kids have shots at Princeton, but you just have no way of knowing if you’ll get in. Except for a select few ridiculous geniuses and world class sport recruits, any decision is fair game.

Thank you so much! You are very kind to say that I wasn’t sure how exactly this website worked so my info is kind of disorganized. I made a new post so hopefully that one is more clear. I know I don’t have the best grades around, but I am certainly trying my hardest!

It’s just an idea honestly hehe I’m very into Politics as well as buisness/communications. I am hoping there is something along those lines at Princeton :)

I am logging off for the night. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented above. It’s very sweet of all of you to offer your advice and help me out! If you ever need help with anything, I’ll try my best to help you guys out! Goodnight :)

My school does not give grades, and I have a 94.5 unweighted. I have no idea how this compares to the 3.8 average GPA of Princeton. I’ve tried Google and internal searches, but there is a lot of confusing and conflicting information.
Can someone please help me?

I just noticed a typo in the above post - I meant my school doesn’t give grades on a 4.0 GPA scale, I did not mean my school doesn’t give grades at all.

If I am calculating this correctly, I believe you have around a 3.8 unweighted! Congrats Your weighted grade will depend on how many honors and AP classes you are taking
