I have a SAT score of 1230 and overall of 1780 and ACT score of 28 which is equivalent to 1860 of SAT and 1260 out of 1600.

I am originally from India and came in USA last year April. i got admitted to junior year. I took AP biology (93), Pre Calc(99), English (96), Us History I(96), Accelerated Algebra (97), Computer Application (96).

I have volunteered for a month in an hospital in PA. abt 64 hours total. I am planning to take AP physics, AP chem, AP Calc, AP stat, US history II hon, English regular next year.

I want to major in Biochemistry. Will Rutgers New Brunswick admit me?? Do they consider my low english score as justifiable as i had not been in US up to 11th grade.

SAT-1780

Will getting 4 on AP bio help. What would happen if i get a 3?

I had no idea of the Ap stuff and honors stuff till the middle of the year. By then it was too late to make changes in my courses. I am probably getting a 3 in AP bio.

Pls help me out. I am completely lost

You should have no problem getting into rutgers - I know people that have gotten accepted with 1500-1600 out of 2400. So your 1780 our of 2400 looks pretty safe.

Just try and keep your GPA as high as it can be. Good Luck.

got wait listed with a 1860 :p

which major did u choose? And did u have AP subjects. And what was ur GPA weighted and unweighted

Wow, sorry to hear that Vind2. I know this year was extremely competitive at all schools. Skabaria: From the rutgers website: You need to get your 1230 SAT up to a 1300 or act to a 30 and I would think you’re good to go.

SAT ACT
1550-1600 35 $21,400^^ $10,000 $7,500
1500-1540 34 $21,400^^ $10,000 $7,500
1450-1490 33 $10,000 $10,000 $7,500
1400-1440 32 $7,500 $7,500 $5,000
1350-1390 31 $5,000 $5,000 $2,500
1300-1340 30 $5,000 $5,000 $2,500

Have you looked into the other campuses? Rutgers Newark is also a great school, very sciencey. And there are a lot of pre-law and pre-med people at Rutgers Camden.

My friend got into Newark with a 1780SAT and got a small scholarship too.

take the toefl…

It was last year, just saying, that SAT don’t mean everything

I’m a junior in high school and i’m instate. I currently have a GPA of 3.8 and an SAT score of 1400. that was my first time taking the SAT so i have two more tries to boost up my SAT score. do you think i could get into rutgers new brunswick with this information? i’ve been on a varsity sport since freshmen year and i’m currently doing a lot of volunteer services. i took a lot of ap and honors classes this year and will be taking plenty of it next year. i really hope i get into this school and if you think i can’t, what do you think i can do to boost my chances? besides my SAT score cause i’m already working on that. thank you !
