can I get into rutgers with a 1.78 gpa, 2000 SAT's

my gpa's a 1.78 but sat's 2000/2400, can I get into rutgers.

…can you graduate with a 1.78 GPA?

that was my junior gpa, my first 3 years combined would be at around a 2.0

Just wondering. My school has a 2.0 cutoff.
I’ve never heard of Rutgers; you might want to try posting a chance me thread. :)

Eh…That GPA does not look pretty. I don’t think you have a very good chance at Rutgers.

WOAH. i have friends with 3.6 gpas who can only score in the 1500s.

and im sorry to say i think youre going to have a hard time… unless you have a specific reason its so low? like family drama or personal illness or something?

On another thread, you said that you got a 1640.

Being as a good quarter of the seniors each year in my high school go to Rutgers and another quarter to a local community college, I would have to say that your GPA fits the community college students more while the SAT score fits Rutgers.

However, one of my senior friends had an above 2100+ SAT but finished with something around a 2.2, with barely any ECs other than non-serious school sports and volunteer hours. He applied to Rutgers ED and got deferred, then rejected after the normal application.
He told me that the thing that he felt screwed him over was not necessarily just the mere number of the GPA, but how the GPA reflected upon his time in high school. As in, when an interviewer (Rutgers specifically asked him for an ED interview, no doubt set off by the discrepancy between the SAT and GPA) asked him questions about his classes and teachers, she got the correct impression that he was intellectually fit for Rutgers, but definitely lacked the work ethic, determination, and mental maturity for Rutgers and that he did not get along with teachers usually. He realized these things after the interview and realized that what his GPA said about him as a person was what screwed him over.

Is there a reason for your GPA?
What about extracurricular activities?

You can’t get into ANY college with a FAILING GPA. Do the maths… Failing GPA=No college–>Rutgers=college–>Failing GPA=No college–>Failing GPA=No Rutgers…

So yeah… work on that GPA man, you’re test scores are good for some pretty top notch schools… Why the waste???

he dude guess what you have the exact gpa i got in my sophomore yr. i totally died sophomore yr but atleast i have junior yr. i really want to get into rutgers to so i hope i get all A’s so i get a 3.1 so i can get in. and rutgers does not acept anyone who is below 2.5 sorry to crush your dreams. that what they said. i really need above of 2200 then i am set for rutgers even with a 3.1 i still need 2200 to be completely sure i will make it. ok cya and good luck if u make it

how the hell do you only have a 1.78 GPA and yet got a 2000 on the SAT’s??? Are you that lazy?? even so there’s no way you could get a 2000 if you do so poorly in school!!! argghhh lol this blows my mind

maybe the kid is just chillin. that would explain the gap between scores and gpa. he smokes amd weed. i understand this kid.

maybe u should try community college

yea seriously can you even graduate with a 1.78?
& a 2000 on the SATs…did you even answer any questions?
