Can I get into Santa Clara University?

I was wondering I could get into Santa Clara University. I wanted to major in business and they have a great program. I always wanted to go to Cali for college, and the other factors in play make this a great match for me. However, my GPA is kind of low. Freshman year I had a 2.65 with 1 honors class. Sophomore year I had a 2.69 with 1 honors class. This year I got a 3.1 with 2 AP's and zero honors. SAT's I have an 1830. 610 in each section..haha yeah it just worked out that way. I did cross country all 3 years and I plan to continue that for senior year. I did about 150 hours of volunteer work at a library, a non profit organization that sold goods of 3rd world countries and gave them the profits, and at a summer/basketball camp where I worked with kids. I plan to get a job this summer too. I am taking 2 AP classes next year and 1 honors. I was involved with 5 clubs, one of them was newspaper. I was a writer. I plan to continue these next year as well. I live in NJ btw and my high school is known to be tough.

It’s not unheard of – I have a friend who got in with less than a 3.0. If your application (essays, etc) was excellent, and you brought that SAT score up a little, I don’t see it being out of reach for you. Especially with the economy the way it is, admissions have had to accept more students. Good choice btw ;)

EDIT: Really do well first semester next year, try and bring your GPA up above a 3.0 or as close as possible. Also emphasize community service – Jesuit institutions weigh that heavily, but not before academics.
