Can I get into Stanford?

True.

Not true. Not that many people have the credentials to say they wrote a book or build things over the summer. The students that do have something like that on their app are usually the ones that actually get in anyway…

@Avasar: You built a wind turbine in your country. That’s great and all but you’re making it sound as if you’ve invented THE wind turbine. You are an international student which means that your chances of admission are much lower. You are competing against the top students from across the world and international students are crazy intelligent and talented. You need to recognize the fact that Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, etc. are not the only schools in the entire world. You qualify for a lot of good schools in the United States (and in other countries) and you need to open your horizon.

I still encourage you to apply but don’t be shocked if what you hoped for doesn’t go according to plan.

Well, no one can get shocked if they don’t get into Stanford, can they? No one can be sure.

What I meant was that Stanford was my top choice, not just because its Staaaanford but also because I feel its my almost perfect fit. But I will be looking into other schools too(of course)

@UCorBust: Thanks for the advice

By the way, I would like someone to critique my “Why Stanford” essay. Could anyone please do that? I will be really grateful
