Hi :) My gpa is a 3.2 (B+) My sat score is a 1700. Honors English, Honors Film Analysis, and Advance Media Placement class. Everything else is CP. Television is my passion and I will show that through my essay and interview. I am in Student Government, secretary of my class. Girl Scouts. Youth Group. Peer Leadership Group. I have 2 part-time jobs, One at my local Ice Cream shop and one at a Law Firm of a Syracuse donating Alumni who will write a letter of recommendation. Aunt is a Newhouse Graduate School Alumni. I know my scores are lower than The average Newhouse acceptance rate, but I was wondering if anyone with around my scores and EC's has ever gotten in to Newhouse? I have heard that the interview is extremely important and I love talking to people and I am very good with interviews, I was wondering about the validity of this? Also, I'm curious about intra-university transferring. I would like to apply Early Decision, but I also am not sure if they only pick the "best of the best" for ED or they are more lenient. If anyone has any information, that would be greatly appreciated!

I really doubt you can. Although it’s hard to have specifics, basically the students have 3.7-4.0 and 1900-2100 on the SAT.
Look at Ithaca for Communications (still a reach for that major), SUNY OSwego, SUNY Oneonta.

I’m looking for schools that have great communications programs (I know that Ithaca definitely does) not necessarily schools in New York. If anyone has an information on Penn State, Temple, UMass, or any other schools with great communications programs I am open for more information, thanks!

SUNY Oswego and Oneonta have good communication programs.
Run Net Price Calculators on each website (each college calculates differently)
and bring the results to your parents to see whether these universities are within their
price range.
For instance, Penn State Out of state is very expensive.

Dear RBMJB64,

Newhouse’s admissions department is very open to discuss with you personally your concerns and where you stand in the admissions process. http://newhouse.syr.edu/admissions/visiting-newhouse

OrangeCom, Thank you so much! That was extremely helpful! :)
