I want honest answers please, i know these boards are used most for top tier schools talk, but i need some help, i already talked to my counselor about this and well, i thought I'd talk to you guys and would like to hear what you guys have to say about this, my high school GPA right now is a 2.2 ( i know it sucks ), and im a senior right now. i am trying to get into Texas state after my senior year, and i do not want to attend a community college for 2 years and then transfer, i know most would say " go to cc and transfer ", well that is not a choice for me, ill get to the point now, if i score a good SAT score, 1700+, and get a good application essay, recommendations, and show them my community service, and that i balanced school with a job i have, do you think i have a chance of getting into Texas State, i know its not a top school or w.e, but i am trying my best to get in it, anyone know anybody that got in with my sh1t gpa? thanks

If you look at the Common Data Set [Reports : Institutional Research : Texas State University](http://www.ir.txstate.edu/Reports/Report.html) you can see that GPA is NOT considered, but class rank is very important, as are SATs. The essay is only considered. The question is where do you lie in your class rank? a 1700+ will put you at the 75%ile in stats. If your 2.2 GPA is anywhere in the top 1/2 of your class you should be fine. In the likely event you are not in the top 1/2, TX State still accepts 2.5% of students in the bottom 1/4 of the class.

I have the exact same issue and I am totally worried ! did you end up being excepted to TSU?

Did you end up getting accepted?
