Can I get into the Sophie Davis Biomed studies?

Quick question, do you think I can get into the Sophie Davis program? (I just finished junior year, and I'm gonna be a Senior this year [yayyy!]) Stats:

92.04 UW
94.6 W

SATS:
530 - Reading
610 - Math
510 - Writing

SAT 2s:
510 - French
560 - Math 1
610 - Math 2

ACTS:
26

APs:
Statistics
Calculus AB
Chemistry
French

I also took a math honors program (I am one year ahead of my grade in math).
I have taken a language for all of high school, band for all high school, i have about 300 hours of community service, JV and Varsity Field hockey, school awards for math and science. I've done wayy more, but I really don't feel like writing all of my extra curricular activities.

SATS:
530 - Reading
610 - Math
510 - Writing

Just based on the SATs, probably not.
Sophie Davis is highly competitive. This mean they actually cares about your academic performances.
However, I can also say that other college “common senses” are also important.
Hundreds of great students get rejected every year.
You can still try though.

I would urge you to try MHC @ CCNY instead, and take the pre-med courses there. My friend @ CCNY is now in Columbia pre-med program (3 years) in the summer, and fall and spring @ ccny.

ahh i see. yea - idk if im kinda getting turned off by this program. but i know i wanna do biomedical engineering. so i thought it was like…a nice incline. but my reading went up to a 600 if that matters. I mean, im academically competitive but i sucks at standardized tests, even with me studying like a crazy woman hahah, but thank you!

No, biomedical engineering is no in the Sophie Davis school. BME program is in the engineering school.

Moreover, Sophie Divas school offers 7-years primary care medical program. and i think there is a legal agreement which I don’t really know about.
yes, 600 in reading will improve your chance for Macaulay honor.
Now, this is how the honor admission of any CUNY school works.

You have to apply for Macaulay Honor Program admission at City College of New York. You can only apply to ONE CUNY school for honor admission. For regular admission it’s either 5 or 6.

Nevertheless, when you apply to MHC program, you are automatically consider for three admissions:
1. MHC
 2. Honors program @ City College (not MHC)
 3. Regular admission @ City College

Most good students get into #2 if they do not make #1.

You should try to get as high as possible on any standardized exams, especially STA 2 reflects your fluency of the content.
Alternatively, you can re-apply to #2 honors program @ CCNY at the end of your freshman year (by June xx ).

I would say you are a upper 30 - 40% student based on the score.
You still have to things to worry about: your letters of recommendation, and your personal essays.

Letters of recommendation should be very “personal” written by teachers and faulty that know you very well.

Your college essays are very influential. In fact, no matter which school you apply, whether it’s MIT, Harvard, or CCNY, the admission staff really make their decisions based on your essay. It is being “graded” based on how personal it is and how successful you have presented yourself in the essays. The staff can only learn YOU through the essays.

Now you have a summer - go over College confidential, and the Internet to look for ideas.

I would definitely search MIT essays college admission.

thanks soooo much. :)
