Please chance me for the undergrad RN program for Umass Lowell and/or Umass Amherst. Other Umasses would be good too but those first two are very important to me, especially Lowell. Also, how can I improve my chances? Thanks!

Here my stats:

Female
Hispanic
3.7/3.8 un-weighted (4.2 ish weighted)
Most courses for honors (all in junior year)
Soccer, theater, track
Volunteer at local charity and church
Hospital internship
SAT: 560 Math, 620 Critical reading (will take SAT's again and they will go up)
Expecting to take SAT subject tests in Math I and bio or chem
Won the Bausch & Lomb science award from Rochester University
Two college courses taken in chemistry (got an A) and biology at Middlesex Community College

I would think you have a pretty good chance at both. Just get SAT scores up to have a better chance.

Thanks, what’s a good target number?

For Lowell, the average SAT score for 2013 was 1134. However, nursing is pretty competitive. I would say try for at least a 1300 (650 on both). Obviously the higher the better. UMass Amherst’s mean SAT score was 1256.

Can anyone tell me if I have a shot at Boston College if I get my SAT scores up? What’s a good score for BC?

Or what about RPI? Holy Cross? I know, ambitious ><
