Can I get into the University of Texas at Austin?

I go to a private school and my class only has about 51 kids. That meaning the top 10% would be the top 5 students. Unfortunately I’m only in the top 10 students. So I know this wouldn’t give me automatic admission, but would it be harder for me to get in, now that I’m only in the top 20%?

Also this is kind of a side note, do colleges take account into knowing that private schools are small, and that the top 10 students could be the top 20% like me? or do they really just care about the top 10%?

it will be harder but definitely still possible if in state
what field are you thinking of applying to and how are your test scores, GPA and extra curriculars?
ut doesn’t take school reports, so i think you should tell them yourself (perhaps in Essay S?) about how small your class is. i think they are understanding of different types of schools, because my school is pretty large and competitive and they routinely place kids from our top 15-20% (or lower) in programs like engineering and plan ii honors.

I am taking my first AP class as a sophomore in high school. (World History AP), my GPA isn’t perfect, but it’s good, since I have all A’s, and I’m on varsity soccer, and varsity golf.
