Thank you!!

It is crunch time. I need some opinions please!!!

I’d need your UC/CSU GPA to be more precise but, just gut feel but - here you go:
Cal Poly SLO - Nope
UCR - Probably
UCI - Probably not
UCD - Nope
UCSB - Probably not
SDSU - -Probably
SJSU- Probably
CPP - Yes
CSULB - Yes
CSUF - Yes

Curious - why no Chico state?

UC/CSU GPA is 3.73. It is listed under my Stats. Really didn’t like the “vibe” from Chico state and also UCSC. That is why they are not on the list. I know SLO is a reach and I am not counting on SLO but I thought I would give it a try by applying ED. Thank you for input.

That’s a good reason… you gotta feel comfortable wherever you go.
I think you’ve got a good handle on your chances and a solid plan.
I hope one of your reaches comes through.
Good luck.

Not long beach; they are tough to get into and impacted in CS and engineering. Grades have to be close to 4.0. They received almost 80k applications in fall 2013.

Just thought I would give an update. Accepted by CSUF, SDSU and UCR with Chancellor’s Scholarship. Deferred ED from SLO. Got CPP Honors college invitation so it looks like I am in at CPP, I will send another update as the acceptances come in. Thank you to everyone that chanced me.
Received my offical acceptance to CPP last night. Congrats to all.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That’s an awesome set of acceptances! I’m very happy for you.
I would assume that SDSU, UCR with Chancellor’s Scholarship, and CPP Honors would be your top contenders at this point, right?
Thank you @MYOS1634. My first choice would be Cal Poly SLO but with a CSU GPA of 3.73, I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst. SDSU would be my 2nd choice at this point followed by UCR. UCSB or UCI would be great options also, but again not expecting too much. UCD was my parents choice, but not really interested in attending even if I got in. Still waiting on SJSU/CSULB.
You’ve been admitted to some excellent schools. Congrats!
I am still hoping some of those long shots come through.
Why aren’t you interested in UCD? It’s an excellent university, with greater resources than SDSU, and a fantastic campus. I know SDSU has San Diego and the beach, but I’m not sure I would prefer UCRto UCD :d In any case, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for Cal Poly SLO!!
UCD is a great school so if you get in you should consider it.
@MYOS1634: I know my parents and sister keep telling me that UCD is a good school. I really do not think I have a chance with a 3.73 UC GPA for CS and felt the fit was not right, too small town. Kind of contradictory, considering my first choice is SLO (another Reach school), but SLO has the beach nearby and I really liked the downtown area when I visited. I also have about 5 close friends besides myself that have applied for Engineering and hoping some or all of us get in. I just have to wait for all the acceptances and then decide but thank you for the encouragement.
@marleyandme is your UC weighted or unweighted GPA 3.73? If it’s unweighted, what is your UC weighted GPA?
Poster stated UC GPA 3.73 weighted and 3.98 weighted fully weighted. Unweighted 3.45 above^^^
Another update: Just accepted at CSULB for CS.
Well finally denied from SLO which was not unexpected. I have already SIR’d for SDSU, my 2nd choice and I think I will be very happy there. Congratulations to all and good luck. There is a great school out there for everyone.
Congratulations! SDSU is a great school
