I am applying to Grove City College and Wheaton College (IL), with Asbury College as my safety. I have been home schooled throughout high school and haven't gotten the awards or joined the clubs that would be availible to a typical high schooler, which makes me a little worried. However, i have taken a very challenging course load (including Greek and Logic) Do you think I can get in?

So what's the verdict?

Have you looked at Messiah College?

I've heard of it, but haven't done much research on it. Do you reccomend it? =]

Messiah is pretty much in the middle of nowhere but from everyone I've heard from that goes there enjoys it. It would be another good Christian school safety for you. I don't envision you having any trouble getting in there. It's in central PA in the middle of PA's Bible belt and I hear the academics are good and I know a number of people take advantage of studying abroad while at Messiah.

They also seem to encourage and like homeschooled kids:

"Under what homeschoolers like about Messiah" on their webpage it states:

"Homeschoolers have been drawn to Messiah College's high academic priority and expansive academic and career options of more than 50 majors and pre-professional programs. Peterson's Competitive Colleges lists Messiah as one of the nation's "Top Colleges for Top Students." Outstanding study abroad, internship, and career placement programs appeal to homeschooled students who have studied in a non-traditional setting. Homeschooled students have been impressed with Messiah College's commitment to character development through diverse cocurricular opportunities. Messiah College provides a challenging place for students to explore their faith and develop spiritual maturity to love God with head, heart, and hand."

I also noted something I like about their teaching of the sciences regarding the evolution/creationism debate, they allow students to choose their beliefs and allow them to interpret the Bible as they wish. They don't judge you if you read the Bible literally or if you interpret it from a non-literal sense.

Their website lists their average admitted stats as: The average GPA is about a 3.83 and the SAT score average is around 1200.

Messiah started as a Brethern school, but is now non-denom. and has students from over 60 denominations on campus.

This about exhausts my knowledge of Messiah...and well what I found on the website of interest. Check them out at www.messiah.edu
