hey guys,

I'm in the midst of applying to colleges and I just got my first marking period grades back for my senior year and I'm really upset.

Gym: A
AP Bio: B
AP Calc: D-
Anatomy and Physiology: B
Drawing: A-
Political and Legal Education: A+
AP French: A+
AP Lit: C+

I've never ever gotten a D- EVER. I'm a top student at my school and I know that I'm at least in the top 15% of my class because I recieved a letter at home saying that I was eligible for scholarships at any state school because i was in the top 15%. But I know that I'm at least in the top 10%. My GPA is 4.24. I've always gotten As, A+s, and A-s, and last year I came out of it with four Bs (that was because I lost my grandfather and it was extremely difficult for me to concentrate in school).

I dont have senioritis, i'm really just struggling and i go in for help a lot and i understand the concepts but none of it helps on tests because i always end up failing or getting a D. I put in the time and effort at home and I ask my dad and friends for help too.

Im extremely surprised because every year in my math class, I always get an A and then all of a sudden I drop to a D-. I'm even more shocked because on the SAT 1 i got a 770 on the math section. and on the subject test in math 2 i got a 750 and it's all precalc and calc. I read somewhere on here that I can make a contract with my teacher stating that i will come in every week at least once or twice to ask questions and such and then send it in to colleges with my applications proving that i dont have senioritis and that i'm willing to work and improve. Would this be a good move?

Here are some of the college that i'm applyign to and some that I'm still looking into:

Georgetown
Rensselear
UPenn (still looking into it)
Cornell
Rutgers
Drexel
Villanova
Penn State
Johns Hopkins
Carnegie Mellon
Boston University

I'm also involved in extracurriculars: Model UN/ Model Congress, Red Cross Club, National Honor Society, French Language Honor Society and I'm starting an Invisible Children's Club at my school because at RUMUN this year we had some speakers come in and introduce it to us and I was really excited. I asked my Model UN teacher if he would be interested in being the advisor and he seems really excited too. I also play tennis. I've been first singles for the past two years and have been on varsity for all four years and the coach from RPI seems really excited and has been asking me for a recruiting video. I have my Georgetown Interview today.
