Hey, I'm a high school junior who is starting to plan college visits/schools I'm going to apply to. I live in New York and would like to go to a school in the NE or mid-atlantic region. My "stats" at the end of junior year are as follows.
-3.8 GPA
-670 Sat math
-650 Sat reading
-15 college credits
-4 AP classes (4's on first 2 exams)
-3 years with the same part-time job working 20 hours a week
-3 years HS language and in language honor society
-numerous business awards

I am looking to apply to Cornell, UPenn, Uvirginia, 'Nova, Binghamton, Urichmond, and Udelaware for business administration, finance, or economics. I am wondering which of these schools do I have a shot of getting accepted. I know i have "above-average" grades but is the fact that I don't have that much extra curricular stuff and no SAT 2's gonna hurt me? Also I only took the SAT's once and did not do any prep. Is it worth it to get a tutor/take classes and push to get math/reading closer to 700?

you have pretty good grades…but i don’t think you would get in Wharton or the McIntire School (unless you’re in state) with those stats. Of the 4 AP exams I’m gonna assume that your other 2 exams were not 4’s or 5’s which means…your A’s or A-'s (judging from your GPA) in those classes are kind of negated since your school obviously grades easier. An A or A- or even a B+ should at least get you a 4 on the AP exams. Some school require the SAT 2’s for admission you should check what school needs what to apply. I think you have a decent shot at a few good schools, trying branching out.
Check out these business schools:
Notre Dame
Michigan
IU
UIUC
NYU

Thanks for your help. The other 2 AP exams I just took recently, so I did not get the scores back yet. I also have another question, Do colleges really go look at your schedule to see all the courses you have taken? Because although my GPA is only around a 3.8, I haven’t really taken any easy/pointless courses to boost my GPA, and I am wondering if that might actually end up helping me instead of hurting me.

You can definitely get into Binghamton. I know people who went to business school in Bing but they had lower SAT scores & a much lower high school GPA than you.
I know someone who received 800 in math, 790 in verbal & a 98 average in high school but ended up on a wait list by Cornell but accepted by Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia. I actually know quite a few people who were waitlisted by Cornell but accepted by other IVY Leagues.
I am not quite sure about the other schools.

Why don’t you try applying to NYU? They have one of the top business programs in the nation and it’s in the city! Definitely more job/internship opportunities.

You have a decent shot at Villanova, Binghamton, and Univ. of Del. but the others are going to be a reach.

Michiang, Chicago, Northwestern, NYU, Cornell, UVA, UPenn are going to to be reaches mainly due to your SAT score which is decently below average at these school. But I would still apply since your have a good GPA/ecs.
