Hi, I have a 4.2 that include my grades so far from senior year. I took 5 IB courses last year (IB MATH SL, IB BIOLOGY HL, IB LANG AND LIT, IB HOA, IB BUSINESS) and my other classes include Advanced Composition, and Yearbook which I am editor in chief of. This year I take the same courses basically because IB is a 2 year process for most classes except I dropped Ib bio for Physics HN (weak subject) and IB business is one year so this year i am taking IB global politics. I am class president and involved in young dems work, my schools writing center, newspaper, yearbook, etc. I want to major in english and minor in poly sci. I feel like I can be strong but I am awful at the SAT. I got a 1250 out of 1600 but an overall 7 on the essay (out of 8). What are my chances of tufts university? will they look past my SAT score. My interview went well, and I am applying binding early decision. Please help. what are my chances???
btw if my essay score is confusing technically I mean i got a 20 on the essay sorry I just found average instead of total. i also play lacrosse if that’s helpful and do a lot of community service. sorry i’m just nervous I won’t get into my dream school ahhh
Your extracurricular activities are very strong, but your SAT score is relatively weak for Tufts.

Granted, Tufts Admissions truly considers each applicant as a whole person, so I think you still have a good shot.

My friend improved by 220 points up from 1240. I would have recommended that you retake it, but that doesn’t matter now as November Test date has passed. Good luck and I hope we get in by December 
I think you’re a really strong applicant but sub-1300 is quite low for Tufts… did you take the December SAT?
