GPA: 3.59 unweighted, 3.75 weighted.

Can I get into UC Davis with these scores?
what about UCSD and USC??

Id say low reach/ match for Davis. USC unlikely. You can use the point system for UCSD theRAD pointed out, but it involves some guesswork, and the point cutoff differs year to year.

Do you have strong EC’s? What is your senior schedule like? These can play a large factor in the admissions process.

to be honest I would not say I have strong EC’s. I have scattered volunteer work at a school service club and piano for 12 years but no awards. However, I created a youth volunteer group at my local retirement community, and I thought this could be used to show my leadership. Do you think this will help?
my senior year schedule –
1st semester:
ROP graphics design
Physics
AP Government
AP French
AP CALCULUS AB
Humanities

2nd semester:
Physics
AP Economics
AP French
AP CALCULUS AB
Humanities

Your youth volunteer group seems nice. Your EC’s aren’t terribly strong, but definately not weak either.
Senior schedule looks OK too. If you can pull your SAT to 2100+ Id say u have a decent shot at UCSD.

You might not know how much this means to me, but I just wanna say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! this is definitely motivating!!! I will be working HARD HARD HARD over the next 2 months!!!

Umm… no, ECs aren’t worth much at UCSD. To be precise, they’re worth 300 pts at most. He’ll get at best 300 more pts for his piano experience. (I don’t know how to award points. Get someone at UCSD to help you. You’re probably not going to receive full credit.) He needs ~7800 pts to be admitted.

You should refer to the point system guide TheRAD provided. UCSD is one of the schools with very little wiggle room. You NEED a high SAT and a good GPA.

^Look closer sentiment, its 300 for leadership, 300 for achievements/awards, and another 300 for volunteer service. Granted, OP may not get ALL the points, but he can potentially get enough to make a difference
