If these stats are unrealistic for Irvine, what other UC’s do I stand a chance at being accepted into?
Probably not - but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply. A strong essay could earn you a spot. Your best shot at a UC would be UCR and UCM. I don’t think a few more ACT points would change your outcome but, re-taking the test won’t hurt…
Not sure what you want to study but, I’d also encourage you to look at SDSU, CSULB and Chico State.
UCI is very GPA focused and if you look at some past Freshman threads, you will see a pattern of acceptances for applicants with 4.0+ UC GPA’s and lower test scores than higher test scores and below 4.0 GPA. As @ NCalRent stated there is no reason not to apply, just be realistic in your chances.
