Can I get into UCLA or UC Berkeley?

I just finished my sophomore year of high school today, and I'm sort of freaking out about my grades for this semester. First semester I got all A's, and took 1 AP, so I had a 4.0 unweighted and a 4.2 weighted GPA. I had some seriously hard finals this semester and I'm scared that I might be getting 2 B's on my transcript. I'm taking SAT tutoring so those scores will be pretty good when I take them junior year. Also, I'm taking 2 AP's and 2 Honors classes junior year, and will work my hardest to get all A's.

I sing, have been taking karate for 10 years (I have a black belt), am part of a ton of clubs at school, have a part-time job this summer, volunteer with kids at a local community center, have leadership positions at my school, and plan to run for president of my class next year.

If I do happen to get the 2 B's on my report card (bringing me down to a 3.6 unweighted GPA), do I have a chance of getting into UCLA or UC Berkeley? These are pretty much the only schools I want to and can afford to go to. Thanks for your answers!

I doubt 2 B’s will prevent you from getting accepted into UCLA or Berkeley. It would be best to show improvement, if they are academic subjects, during your junior year. SAT prep is a good idea. However, probably the most impactful component of your application will be your essays.
