Can I get into UCLA or UCB?

Asking for complete honesty please! I'm going into my junior year and just wondering if either of these is even an option. I had straight A's both semesters last year and expect the same junior year. I was only allowed to take 1 AP sophomore year (Art History) and had a 4.2 WGPA, but this year I'm taking 2 AP's (Language and Composition & US History) and 2 Honors (Biology & Pre-Calc), the hardest workload my school allows juniors. I take SAT prep, and based off of my PSAT scores, those should be pretty good. I worked at a big, privately-owned company most of this summer and hopefully next summer as well. I will apply to the pre-collegiate program at UC Berkeley next year, and hopefully volunteer at a medical center. As for ECs, I have a black belt in Hapkido (a Korean martial art), sing (but haven't gotten any awards or anything, just take lessons), am part of a few clubs at my school (and will be starting my own this year), and might run for class president this year. I volunteer at a local religious organization where I run a kids program during services. I have a minor leadership position at my school (I'm a student "ambassador") and constantly help plan events at my school. So knowing all of that, what do you think my chances are for getting into UCLA and UC Berkeley (and might as well throw in UCSB and UCSD into the mix too)? Any comments, advice, input, etc, is greatly appreciated!

I’m assuming you’re in state. I think it depends on your SAT score. Keep taking rigorous courses & leadership positions. Also, make sure you get involved in activities pertaining to your major, and do well on standardized tests, and you’ll be fine!

Yeah, I’m in state. My biggest issue is that I’m not sure what my major is going to be yet. Thanks so much

Get straight A’s, and you are probably getting into both. Do your best on the SAT. ECs don’t matter much for UCs, so don’t spend too much time on them (unless you are shooting for privates too).

If your school doesn’t offer courses, try taking some community college courses.
