Can I get into UCLA?

I know no one can give me a definitive answer, but I just want other opinions on if I stand a chance. UCLA has been my dream school for a while now, but looking at all the statistics of applicants makes me think I don’t even have a chance.

My unweighted GPA is around a 3.6, weighted 4.0, UC GPA 4.2

I’ve taken honors courses since 6th grade, and have taken as many AP’s as my school can offer (only 3). I’ve had a job for all my high school career, working at my family’s business after school, and have been in a few clubs (Key Club, Science Club, etc.).

My ACT score with writing isn’t that good, only a 25, but to be fair my school’s average act is a 19, so I’m actually pretty high compared to my colleagues, but I don’t think UCLA will consider my school’s averages since I’m an out of state applicant.

Thank you for reading, and any response is appreciated.

Quartiles – Admits

For Freshman admits 2016:
Out of state:: 25th/75th percentile
Fully weighted UC GPA: 4.38/4.80
Unweighted UC GPA: 3.87/4.00
UC capped weighted GPA: 4.12/4.30
ACT compositite: 32/34

You are in-range for your UC GPA but your ACT is way below the 25th percentile. Do you plan to retake?

Although UC’s are very GPA focused, UCLA gets over 100,000 applications each year, so you need to be a top applicant overall (GPA/Test scores/EC’s and essays).

UCLA: Reach unless you can bump up your test scores.

Historical UC GPA for Freshman:
Campus 4.20 or higher

UCLA: 53%

ACT definitely low. It’s not about being better than average at our school, you want to have a good percentile compared to all test takers
