Can I get into UGA?

I’m nervous. Everyone says that anyone can get into UGA, but their average gpa and test scores are super high. So I am unsure. Based on what I’m working with, what do you think?

My unweighted GPA is a 3.7, weighted is about a 4.1 (I think). My ACT score from the first time I took it is a 29, but I think next time I take it I can make a solid 32 or 33, seeing as I had a migraine and didn’t put my entire effort into it, plus I’m actually studying this time around. My class rank is 5th out of about 130.

I’m a white, female, Georgia resident, if that has any importance.

I’ve taken all honors classes, plus an AP class each year. Going into my senior year, I will be taking 3 AP classes, so that will be a total of 6.

My extracurriculars are what really concern me, because I have not done very many. I was involved with FBLA all three years, and will be involved next year too. I did tech fair freshman year. I got a job March of my Junior year and will have it all of my senior year, which some people say colleges take into consideration. I’ve been a member of BETA all three years, and will be next year. I participated in young Georgia authors Sophomore year. Other than that, though, I honestly haven’t done very much.

So, honestly, what do you think my chances are, and what do you think should be my main priority, in terms of making myself more appealing to UGA? Is it too late to start trying to be involved? I feel like if I just have a ton of volunteer work and extracurricular activities only in my senior year, they may see right through that.

While UGA isn’t as competitive as Tech, it is getting harder and harder every year to get in. It’s the 18th best public University in the country. Even so, you’ve got a good chance. Make sure you do well on the essays. The admissions Dept cares alot about those. I got in with a weighted 3.88 gpa and an 1190 sat. What’s more important than many extracurriculars is consistency in you’re passions. They want to see true passion in their applicants. You being in FBLA and Beta throughout HS works in your favor alot more than adding something like robotics, debate, and tennis if you really don’t care about it.
