Can I get into UIUC???

Very true statement about all the insecurity. I remember thinking people needed to relax at my school last year. I know someone who got into business with 3.55 UW GPA and someone who got in with a 29 ACT. Plenty of people get accepted.

It really isn’t a hard school to get into. The bigger challenge for most people is STAYING in.

why is that boneh3ad?

Because it is a state school. A good school, but still a state school. That means that lots of people get in, but the trick is graduating. I know a lot of people who fell into the big party scene and had to leave the school, or at least their major, and even more people who just couldn’t handle the work in some of the harder programs and had to transfer to other programs or other schools. In most good state schools, the impressive thing isn’t getting accepted, it’s graduating.

Very true. And since a lot of in-state students may not be quite as impressive as out of state students, classes can easily become overwhelming. Classes in business and engineering are NOT a cake walk for anyone. They’re tough majors that require discipline and self-control for success.

hm…I see, that explains a lot. Thanks for the insight guys, I’ll keep that in mind (if I get accepted lol)

enemyunit: How many days it took from the day you submitted application and sent out transcripts to it change to “complete- ready for review”?

boneh3ad : You are right. But befor gradudted, you must get in first.

tonyecc: I think it changed to that on either 11/3 or 11/4. I sent in my stuff pretty early though, so yeah. If you sent it close to the deadline it’ll take them a while, so I wouldnt worry

oh ****, app changed to pending decision!! D=

enemyunit: what does pending decision mean? They have reviewed , but no decision now?

well i’m guessing that since “application complete” meant that they received all the material, that decision pending means that your app is being/was reviewd by adcom. I don’t think they would hav a decision for at least a week if they were doing rolling admit, but they didnt say that. So yeah, hopefully we’d hear back soon. If not, then we still have a guarantee for the Dec 11(?) deadline haha

I believe that if they reviewed the application, they have decision, just can’t let you know. They have so many applications to review, they can’t review one application many times.
