Can I get into UNC Chapel Hill from out of state?

I am a high school sophomore from Florida and it is my dream to go to UNC Chapel Hill. If there are any people that were accepted or rejected, I would really appreciate their input and tips on how to improve my chances of getting in.

I am a member of the AICE program at my high school, which is basically the equivalent of IB, but it is based out of Cambridge University.

Right now my class rank is 32 out of 769, which puts me in the top 4% of my class.

an unweighted gpa of 3.84 and an weighted gpa of 4.5.

1930 on a practice SAT

a member of student council and Interact (a service club) at my high school.

I have volunteered at my church for three years with toddlers every Sunday.

I also plan to volunteer at a nursing home this summer and get a job and next summer I plan to volunteer at a local hospital.

African American female (not sure if this helps or hurts my chances).

I have taken mostly taken honors, ap, and AICE classes and next year I am taking all AICE classes, except for ap spanish.

Thanks in advance.

I would actually appreciate advice from anyone!!!

I think you will need to raise your SAT score somewhat.

Getting in from out of state is not easy.

I’ve heard varied opinions on that actually; some say that getting in OOS is easier because you pay full tuition. Could anyone confirm or deny this?

Out-of-staters have it easier getting into UCs or UWA (UMI as well, but at a lesser extent) but UNC Chapel Hill? No. It has a 18% OOS quota. You may as well be applying at Duke if you were competitive for UNC OOS.

UNC: Reach (aim for 32+/2150+)
