I am a junior in high school and my gpa as of now is about a 3.4-3.5. I go to a very competitive high school in New york. I would like to know what sat scores I would need to possibly get into these schools. I specifically would like to major in engineering. I am taking honors physics right now and plan to take AP physics next year. At the U of Miami i know someone that works there... if i got a letter of recommendation from him would it increase my chances of admission or if i had that person speak with the office of admission. I really would like to get into one of these so please tell me what you would recommend to do.

Google the Common Data Set for each school and read through section C to see what each considers important for admissions and what typical grades and test scores are. Follow each school’s instructions for what letters of recommendation they want.

Based on my application experience, I highly believe that application to Purdue doesn’t need to submit SAT scores.

Purdue:

For admission decisions:
[ul][]Required: SAT Reasoning Test or ACT
[]If submitting ACT, the writing section is required[/ul]

what sat scores should i aim for … should it be 1800 or higher to guarantee a position

Taking your GPA into account, you should head to a 2100+ SAT.

I got into west virginia with a 3.4 gpa and 1750 SAT so I think as long as you get near a 1700 on your SATs, i think you’ll be fine for west virginia.

how good of a engineering program does west virginia have?

Can i get into Arizona State Engineering?
