Is that GPA weighted or unweighted? If it’s unweighted it will help you. Current ACT score will hurt you. If you get the ACT to 30 or better and you have an unweighted GPA above 3.8, you have a good chance. If not it’s a longshot, but not impossible.

Unless this is the wrong UMich, it accepts 51% of applicants. I don’t think that’s that selective, or maybe I just don’t understand the meaning of ‘selective’ in college world.
38% of students there are OOS. The mid ACT score is 27-31. Oh yeah you have no chance, you are only in the exact range of most of their students. (Sarcasm).
I wouldn’t bank on getting in, but you have an extremely high chance of getting in. This is based on the 51% admissions (not that selective I’m not saying it’s a bad school it’s just not that selective at 51%) and that 38% of people there are OOS. You are in the range of ACT and have a good GPA.

Erin’s Dad pointed out the high cost for OOS applicants (post #8). When all is said and done, you will realize that your in-state university is a much more affordable alternative. Unless you can raise your ACT score by several points (probably 3 pts. as floridadad said), becoming a Wolverine will not be an option. You will need to be at the top of the ACT range since you are an OOS and unhooked applicant.

OP, I see from another thread you are from NJ. You need to ask your parents if they’re willing to pay $50K/year for college. You have some in-state options (Rutgers, TCNJ) that would be much more affordable.
