You should be able to get in with those stats. You should make sure they know of the medical condition that affected your performance during freshman year. U-M used to look at 10th and 11th grade performance and did not give serious consideration to freshman grades so I think there is a good chance they will look beyond freshman year GPA. Your counselor recommendation may be of additional help here so you may want to talk to him or her before he or she writes it. Good luck.

Again, make admissions aware of your freshman year circumstances. Try and pull up that UW GPA if possible. You’d be an admit though. Don’t worry too much about it. Good luck!

As far as I know Michigan calculates your gpa entirely without your freshman year

I thought that wasn’t the case anymore?

buuuuuuumppppp

UM does NOT recalculate your GPA.

anyone?10char

UM does NOT recalculate your GPA. That process was stopped a couple of years ago.

res ipsa is very correct; U of M admission admission process:
['U' to no longer recalculate GPA in admissions process - The Michigan Daily]('U' to no longer recalculate GPA in admissions process)

You shouldn’t have any problem. A 33 on the ACT is more than adequate. You will have to write a couple of essays and in one of them you can mention the ADD and how things changed. Good luck and GO BLUE!

That’s a old story. Just few days back, I heard directly from UofM that they are going to recalculate the GPA with higher weightage for AP and Honors and 3.7 for A- for other courses. Other than I have no other info. I am trying to get clarification from others here.

Your gpa and test scores are fine. Use your essays to explain any reason that your gpa was “lower” your freshman year. Good luck and GO BLUE!!!

ik people who have gotten in with way worse stats, you’re fine.
