Can I get into UT?

UT Austin is one of my top choices. I’m in the Class of 2019, so I think i need to be in the top 6% for automatic acceptance. Right now I’m only in the top 8%. My high school is very big and my class size is 1600+ (if they take this into account). My weighted GPA is 4.18 on a 5.00 scale. I got a 1440 on my SAT. I’ve taken 7 AP classes and 1 IB class, and I’m taking 4 AP and 1 IB senior year. My grades are mostly low A’s. I’ve been part of Key Club, NHS, and NAHS and I have a leadership position in Key Club. I’m also doing an internship at a nonprofit this summer. I’m going to be applying for either Public Health or International Studies. What are my chances of getting in?

check this link from state of TX for the Rule,

http://texreg.sos.state.tx.us/public/readtac$ext.TacPage?sl=R&app=9&p_dir=&p_rloc=&p_tloc=&p_ploc=&pg=1&p_tac=&ti=19&pt=1&ch=5&rl=5

Those rules don’t apply to UT-Austin.

UT is more restrictive than other Texas schools.

Either way, you should get in without too much trouble. Even assuming you get in, it doesn’t guarantee the major you want. UT is snooty when it comes to picking majors. That being said, if all else fails, Texas A&M is more flexible and less snooty. Picking your Major is first come first serve over there.
