Can I get into Vanderbilt?

<p>I am looking to apply to Vanderbilt. I am a high school junior in North Carolina.
I am Indian.
SAT: Math - 640, Critical Reading - 640, Writing - 650
These are my SAT scores from 10th grade and I plan to take the test again in June. I am confident that these numbers will raise. </p>

<p>Rank after sophomore year: 82 out of 419. very competive high school
unweighted GPA: 3.5
weighted GPA: 4.3
I am taking 5 AP courses this year and 5 next year so these should raise.</p>

<p>Extra-curriculars:
-high school lacrosse player
-president: high school Young Democrats
-president: high school Robotics Club
-vice president: Statewide Young Democrats
-ran for state office in Youth and Government but lost. Still important member.
-130 hours community service and will be completing at least another 120 more before graduation
-member: National Honor Society
-member: anti-genocide club
-member: key club
-member: Spanish Club</p>

<p>bring your SAT up and you should stand a chance! Also, get in touch with your local admissions counsellor and ask questions and show interest. I think that was what made the difference for me</p>
