Can I get into Vassar College?

I know my SAT as of right now is low, but I plan on retaking it in the fall and getting it up to about a 2000. Vassar is my top choice and I will definitely apply Early Decision. I just want to know if I should get my hopes up or not.

I’m waiting for my SAT II test results, but I am confident in them and believe they will be 650+

Even if you got it to 2000, Vassar would still be a reach.
Getting into Vassar with sub-700 subscores is rare.
Sub-600’s are pretty much impossible for unhooked applicants.

I’m actually thinking of applying ED. Do you think with that I’d have a chance?

I think you’d be throwing your one ED away in that case.

Hopefully I prove you wrong :slight_smile:

I hope so as well. Best of luck to you.

Vassar is a highly selective school. Even if you have a so-so math score (around 630), you will need high CR and writing scores (700+). ED does help but it cannot make up for subpar test scores.

They’re SAT 50% mark is about 2100. Aim for that or above. That will greatly boost your chances.

Thanks so much.

I posted this year’s preliminary admission stats a month or so ago here;
