can i get into virginia tech?

Hello everybody, i'm currently a junior in high school and I've decided that i would like to go to Virginia Tech, but i'm not sure if i can get in. Could anyone give me an idea of my chances? My cumulative gpa at the end of junior year will be around a 3.65 weighted (i know, not so good). By the end of my first semester of senior year it should be at least 3.8 weighted overall.

The AP's i will have taken by the end of high school are:
AP US history:A-
AP world history: A-
AP calc AB:A-
AP chemisry: D (yeah, it's aweful)

will take senior year-
AP stat:
AP environmental science:
AP Gov:
AP calc BC

along with the rest of my core classes being honors.
SAT: 1920
CR: 550
Math:720
Wr: 650

As for extracurriculars i've been in marching band all 4 years, ive made all-district band every year, made 7th chair in the all-state band, soccer for 2 years, and i'm in a few small clubs and organizations at my school. Also i'm an African-American male and i live in Virginia (NOVA) so i'm hoping that that will help my chances. Also i will apply to general studies rather than engineering because i have heard it is very competitive.

anyone please?

You have taken some tough classes and that is great! The chemistry grade is not so good, but that is only one class. I would say apply regular admission. Write great essays, go and meet the admissions counselor when she comes to visit your high school, email her a resume and send her a note. Send your first 9 weeks report card and make sure it is spectacular. Then send your mid year report card before the school does sending a note along with it saying VT is your number one choice. I wish you good luck!
