please gie me a realistic response, I appreciate negative responses as well.

I need to know more information- class rank , # of honors classes through out high school , i see AP, gender, state BUT most importantly i need to know if you had a interview or not- how was it?. FYI even if you sended in our SAT it is NOT going to matter to them anymore.

One remark above is actually NOT true; do send in your SAT. It DOES matter to admissions. You're about high-middle of the pack with that score, and it definitely won't do anything to hurt your chances. The new st'd testing requirements don't discourage submission of scores, but rather decentralize their importance. It's always been this way, it just hasn't always been publicized.

Your GPA looks fine, although I'm not really familiar with the 100 point scale. Community service is important. Do you have any service projects to write about? That would definitely help your chances.

I think, overall, you have a chance to believe in, but your essays and interview will be extremely important in setting you apart from other applicants like yourself. Make sure to visit if you can too.

PS - If you have any other questions about student life, etc, let me or one of the other students on here know!

The strength of your classes and your SAT scores will probably look very good in the applicant pool. Like TAce77, I believe that you need to work in more community service and attempt to find some sort of passion in your extra-curriculars. That way, you can not only work this sort of passion into your essays for Wake, but also into your essays for other schools you may choose to apply to. Most applicants have clubs similar to those that you have...in short, try to distance yourself from the pack. Good luck!

not community service yet, i plan to do a lot though once national honor society commences. I hate to make my seem pompous but my strong point is writing. from my expertise in forensics, I'm unique in my writing style, my siblings who now attend DUKE and EMORY will also commit themselves in helping me pour my passion into my essays. I enjoy writing philosophical and free-spirited pieces, i follow my own style. Would Wake appreciate this?

If I were to have a successful interview along with some solid essays please give me a realistic scale of 1-10.

my low gpa really worries me and each day Im "freaking out" about getting into a top 60 college and Wake is my first choice.

whoever said that he should find passion in his extracurriculars?

All of the last 7 were National Forensics League(AKA, speech and debate) related, and being in the top 32 at a Yale debate tournament is probably harder then getting into most colleges mentioned on CC, not to mention that Wake Forest holds one of the most popular speech and debate national tournaments for high schoolers with thousands of high schools attending.

rqiao:
my son got waitlisted at Wake this spring with a 2060 SAT, a 98 weighted GPA, and all honors/AP courses since freshman year in an excellent parochial school. He had varsity sports, community service, ECs and other significant accomplishments. Wake is a tough admit and if you are from the NY metro area where many students apply, it may be even tougher. Just trying to give you a realistic picture. He elected not to join the wait list, as he did get admitted to Villanova School of Business. Others got denied there but admitted to Wake. College admissions is very unpredictable so it’s hard to chance anybody … there are so many crazy stories this year!

My advice: apply to a good variety of schools in all selectivity ranges and visit them all!
