I am applying early decision to wake forest for the class of 2021. I would love if someone could check out my stats and give me their opinion. Please don’t be afraid to be honest, I would rather hear the hard truth than nice lies.
I am from one of the best private high schools in my state (RI)
Weighted Gpa = 96.97 (up until end of 11th grade)
Soph: span 2, American lit, world history, old and New Testament scriptures, band, geometry, chemistry (UW- 4.0)
Junior: honors Brit lit, Spanish 3, honors religion 3, honors environmental science, honors u.s. History, band, college prep algebra 2 (weighted 4.3)
Senior year courses: ap lit, ap music theory, ap human geo, honors bioethics, college prep precalc, honors world religion, band.
(I started in normal classes and made it to ap classes)
Extracurriculars:
Concert band
Pep band
Art club
Photography club
Tech crew (theatre)
Indoor track and field
Outdoor track and field
Volunteer:
Volunteer at library for past two years before track begins for 2-4 hours, categorising books by genre for a book drive and shelving books once returned to library.
I started a group of people who volunteer once a month and pick a street to remove trash off of.
Also:
I am planning to have a interview over Skype
Not submitting my standardized test scores (too low)
I visited wake forest this summer and went to a tour and info sesh.
My grandpa (had a scholarship program that paid for students housing when they couldn’t. Someone in my family said there is a floor named after him at the medical school, I just have to make sure that’s right.) and cousin both attended wake
I am getting recommendations from the library and my 11th grade English teacher.
